Dr. Venessa Lee
I’m a licensed acupuncturist in NY and CT states, and an herbalist certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)®. I earned my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) and Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. My greatest joy lies in helping each patient rediscover their innate healing abilities and cultivate a healthy, sustainable connection with their inner world. Feeling heard and seen is essential to any therapeutic process. When I am with you, you are my sole focus.
Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Growing up in Hong Kong, I was immersed in traditional Chinese culture and exposed to many Eastern philosophies and practices aimed at fostering health and longevity. I enjoy sharing this wisdom with my patients while also embracing modern science and exploring Western modalities. I believe in the power of integrating the best of both worlds — East and West, old and new. To ensure I offer the most effective care, I continually educate myself on the latest research and findings in the field.
My passion for Chinese Medicine began 13 years ago when my father was diagnosed with renal cancer. During his cancer treatment, I witnessed firsthand how acupuncture and Chinese Medicine provided him with relief from the pain and side effects of radiation and chemotherapy. I was deeply moved by the compassion and care offered by his Chinese Medicine doctor, who treated him holistically — addressing not just the body, but also his emotional well-being. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in my current field.
Before studying Chinese Medicine, I spent 20 years as an art director and graphic designer for several Fortune 500 companies. I understand the stress of the corporate world and the demands of city life. I've navigated personal challenges such as job loss, divorce, and the death of a parent — experiences that made me feel disconnected from my purpose and soul. Ultimately, I found my true calling in Chinese Medicine and love what I do. In healing others, I also heal myself.

During my studies at PCOM, apart from my regular PCOM clinic internships, I also completed internships at NYU Langone’s Initiative for Women with Disabilities, the Bronx Lebanon Hospital’s Family Medicine (in-patients) and Hematology departments, the Institute for Family Health, and Columbia University Health Services. I’ve worked with a wide variety of conditions such as auto-immune disorders, infertility, cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Polio, diabetes, hypertension, headaches, gynecological issues, digestive issues, anxiety, physical and emotional trauma, depression, stress, and insomnia.
